Originally a minibus, not a battered old work van. Bigger 2.5 tdi 5 cylinder with auto box which is very rare. The trips I have done the extra grunt of the bigger engine is great with the weight of the full conversion plus the water tanks. Air con model, which I had re-gassed last summer and is ice cold. Great for summer roads trips.
Uprated rear springs from a 4.5 ton minibus.
Refurbished alloy wheels (unmarked) with as new tyres.
Registered as a motorhome on the logbook so cheaper insurance over a commercial vehicle. Also don’t need a special license as its under 3500kg.
2 keys, HPI clear and V5c in my name.
Cambelt, water pump and service last done sept 2021 at 65,802 by previous owner.
Receipt for another service in 2016 at 63,000.
Afew receipts for bits and bobs in between then and now, but sadly no service history before then.
Bodywork is generally very tidy, but being a crafter (based on a sprinter) it does has some rust bubbles coming through in places. Compared to most I’ve seen its mild. Underneath the van is rock solid, no rust or rot at all, only the bubbles as mentioned.
Cruise control stalk fitted, but I havent got round to coding it in.
Sony bluetooth headunit.
Electric mirrors and windows.
New bosch battery
Reverse camera and front and rear parking sensors are fitted, but weren’t working when we purchased it.
Uprated bulbs (I think Osram)
Black front splitter and VW badges.
According to the pile of receipts the van was converted in 2016. Referencing the MOT history and just by inspecting everything, it’s had very little use. Professionally converted, it really is extremely well done, not a DIY job at home like many..
There is the odd mark here and there but it’s a very nice place to be. We had intended on wrapping the wood effect white, but the brown really grew on us and added to Carl’s character.
Twin swivel front seats retrimmed in leather
Twin rear seats bolt in and out. Retrimmed in leather (not in pictures)
Fresh and grey water tanks underneath.
Webasto diesel heater (runs off main tank)
Dometic 240v/12v/gas fridge/freezer
Malaga 240v/gas water heater
Smev sink
Thetford casette toilet
3 burner hob/gas oven.
Solar panels on the roof.
New leisure battery this season.
2 gas bottles included, both nearly full.
Rear roof light over bed area.
12v vent over toilet/shower
Roof vent over kitchen area
LED lighting throughout.
2x cello 12v tv’s with power aerial (get freeview in the middle of nowhere on 12v)
Fiamma wind out awning.
Fiamma bike rack for the back doors also included.
240v hook up on the side
240v electric heater fitted
Will also include lots of bits and bobs you’ll need to get going. You just need bedding and away you go!
The van is fully off grid.
I believe the fresh water tank to be about 100litres (will easily last a weekend)
The solar is more than enough to keep the battery topped up for lights and charging gadgets.
Gas runs the water heater, fridge and hob/oven.
Diesel covers your heating
Fill up and off you go!
